Medication has a real and important role in outpatient detox. Managing withdrawal symptoms safely, reducing cravings, and stabilizing your body are all things that the right medications can support and our clinical team takes that seriously.
At the same time, our philosophy at Serenus is straightforward: we want to help you get free. Free from the substance that brought you to us, and free from dependency on medications that substitute for it wherever that's clinically appropriate for your situation.
That means we approach medication honestly. We use what helps. We don't push what isn't necessary. And we work with you to understand your options clearly so you can make informed decisions about your own care.
Every client at Serenus receives a personalized medication protocol built by our nurse practitioner on the first day of the program. That protocol is based on your intake evaluation, your substance use history, your withdrawal risk, your current medications, your medical needs, and your recovery goals.
From there, our nursing team monitors your response daily. Vitals are taken every visit. Your protocol is adjusted based on how your body is responding. You are never left to manage withdrawal symptoms on your own.
FDA-approved medications used during detox vary by substance. Our team will walk you through what medications are appropriate for your situation and why during your intake evaluation.
Serenus administers Vivitrol, an extended-release naltrexone injection used to reduce cravings and support sustained recovery from opioid and alcohol dependency.
For clients who are appropriate candidates, Vivitrol can be a meaningful part of a longer-term recovery plan. Our team will discuss whether Vivitrol makes sense for your situation and walk you through what to expect; the timing, the process, and what comes next after your initial injection.
If you have questions about Vivitrol as part of your outpatient detox program in Jacksonville, our team is happy to talk through it with you.
If you are currently prescribed Suboxone by an outside provider and want to continue that prescription during your time at Serenus, we can accommodate that. You do not need to discontinue an existing prescription to participate in our outpatient detox program in Jacksonville.
For clients who are interested in ongoing Suboxone or other medication-assisted treatment beyond what Serenus provides, our case management team will connect you with a MAT clinic in Jacksonville that can support your continued care.
Serenus is not a MAT clinic. We do not prescribe or manage ongoing Suboxone maintenance as a standalone service, and we do not promote medication-assisted treatment as the default path for every client.
Our goal is to help you get through withdrawal safely and step into recovery with the right tools, medications included where they help, and a clear plan for what comes next regardless.
If your situation calls for a dedicated MAT program rather than outpatient detox, we will help you find the right fit.

Yes. Serenus administers Vivitrol injections for clients who are appropriate candidates. Our team will discuss whether Vivitrol is right for your situation during your intake evaluation and walk you through timing, expectations, and next steps for continued treatment.
Our team is happy to walk you through exactly how medication management works at Serenus and whether our program is the right fit for your situation.
